The Pig and Whistle
You have entered the tavern of the Pig and Whistle. Unusually large, it
has a full length oak bar against the far wall. Many bottles of spirits
fill racks on the walls and beer kegs lay stacked and at the ready in the
corner. Small stools and tables encrusted with grime invite you to sit and
relax. A small staircase leads upwards to the sleeping quarters, and to the
west is a meeting room.

The Tavern Square
Before you stands tavern square, a meeting place of many people and
races. The cobbles have been freshly washed and there is an air of
peacefulness about the drinkers wandering into the inn to the south. A dark
alley leads to the north, a cobbled lane to the west. Death row and the
executioners block lead to the east. Far to the west lies high street and
the main shops of Balifor. A big painted sign swings from an iron clasp on
the tavern wall.

  4. Gary · 8 Aug 2004
Ohh... Suf you guys are so hardcore for killing a neutral character, who coincidentally had just died zoning, not with us, and then walking into the inn to drop him at our feet. Damn you guys are tough... way to force all 18 of us into renting from fear of you.

heh getting desparate for logs? :P
  6. Nis · 8 Aug 2004
    why did u rent then?
  7. Mike R. · 9 Aug 2004
sadly enough, gary's attempt at sarcasm just repeated what is blatantly shown in the log. go wild!
  8. tudets · 9 Aug 2004
I know I know. It was time for you to rent by then we had nothing to do with it. Not to mention it was in the middle of your zoning time. Oops!
  9. suf · 9 Aug 2004
2 hours of zoning per day is all Wilds want...
  10. Gary · 9 Aug 2004
Please... ok maybe we saw your elite trash squad on running around Bali and said 'ohh shit, we're sitting 15 vs. 8 trash with our prismer and all our leaders on... this doesn't look good. Let's rent!'

MAYBE, on the other hand, we noticed you guys mass renting in Bali in an OBVIOUS ambush attempt. Then you dangle an OBVIOUS group of trash in our faces in our rent town... I wonder what's going on here. You guys think you're fooling somebody when you're about as smooth as Mavlad on his 1 hour a day away from his computer trying to pick up on girls.

Sorry we didn't go rushing in BSP style after a bunch of trash, I guess our leaders have the intelligence to realize a lose/lose situation. Hope your real group didn't sit at the menu for too long.
  11. Merdenom · 9 Aug 2004
If you guys mass rent whenever bsp logs 4 people on during your time, I'll be able to mud even more. Keep it up!
  12. Gary · 9 Aug 2004
Actually Keila, that's our whole plan! The more you are on the mud healing, the more BSP die. If we get really lucky, you'll stay on for some pk, and then we can count on you for either A) first round hold/death, or B) first round recall. Obviously we'd prefer A since you might have some gear, but whatever is easier for you is fine with us.
  13. ralfiepoo · 9 Aug 2004
Hmm...didn't somebody boast something about crushing our B-team, to see if our A-team would log on and get owned by you?
  14. suf · 9 Aug 2004
Or more likely Gary your guys don't have the balls to come out and have some fun.
  15. mavlad · 9 Aug 2004
haha wilds are scared in the middle of their playtime.
I guess they wont ever fight us unless have 20 heal pots and we mass rip in the zone before
  16. Gary · 9 Aug 2004
Actually we were ready to fight, we just thought the idea of you guys getting up all early and sitting at the menu for nothing was fairly amusing, so we all got a chuckle and decided to go to bed.

And all I was saying in my first post is that we knew your larger plan. You can try to rile us up by posting ridiculous logs like this, or by saying we we have no balls, or whatever. Bottom line is that our leaders think this shit through, they don't just go rushing in for the sake of fighting. You might as well remove this lame log and appologize for ever posting it in the first place.
  17. ralfiepoo · 9 Aug 2004
how long did it take wild to rent after you had logged suf, just out of curiosity?
  18. suf · 9 Aug 2004
Apologize? We don't calculate out our exact chances of winning. We go into fights with the likely possibility that we might lose. I play this game to have fun. Since I've been with bsp all I see is bsp stretching to get a fight going. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we win, but we fight more often than not. Wilds don't like to log on and fight unless they think they have more than a 90% chance of winning.
  19. suf · 9 Aug 2004
Then again, maybe we are just overestimating your playing abilities.
  20. Gary · 9 Aug 2004
I'm glad you like to fight... this game is all about pk i couldn't agree more. I'm saying you should appologize for posting this log cuz it's crap!

And you're definitely overestimating my playing abilities... I suck at this game. I just like to talk shit! :)

  23. suf · 9 Aug 2004
The only reason we even try these things is that the second Wild sees a group they think might have a tiny chance of beating them they rent in fear.
  24. suf · 9 Aug 2004
We have these conversations on irc about how many of us we can log before you rent your 10 man, but we can't figure out the exact number. It's almost as if any 5 man, any prismer, or any no_bash character is instant rent unless you have 20ish characters online. Any help clarifying?
  25. mavlad · 9 Aug 2004
wilds managed to win something like the battle and now scared to fight totally
    well it was so obviously
  26. EvilJay · 9 Aug 2004

  31. Hravitz · 9 Aug 2004
Just for the record, it doesn't make you good, ballsy, or cool to fight with poor odds. It makes you stupid. Obviously you play to win, and fun is part of that. If you played "to have fun" people wouldn't prep and wouldn't clan jump, etc...

This isn't bloodsport and you're not James Bond. Living dangerous just wastes time/effort and ends up making you lose. The real intelligence in PK comes in picking your spot and deciding when/where to make a strong move. Running in braveheart style is retarded, so its always amusing listening to people call other people pussies for not running in blind and stupid.
  32. darns · 10 Aug 2004
You guys always have the best justification whenever it fits your cause. I remember you term BSP to be "win-at-all-costs" and not "having fun" like Wilds do, when Wilds were strong back then. You (Wilds) were the one whining about the lack of courage from BSP parties. You were the one who pointed out that Wilds will be ready to fight whenever, even when the odds are not good. It is fun you said. It is just a game you said. I bet we can dig out some of these comments in this very site or in Xanitha's site, but then, it always have to fit your cause...
  33. Hravitz · 10 Aug 2004
That would make sense if I was Wild, which I am not. And I have always said this. Its one thing to want to have a good fight, but to do this with losing odds is stupid. And in reality, very few people (Brama/etc are exceptions) actually do this. Most times there's some sort of trick involved if you do.

And in this case, its obvious Wild made the smart move, avoided a BSP trap, and BSP was pissed because the planning efforts did not produce any results. That's fine, but its lame to try to goad Wild into fighting by acting tough on this online game.
  34. suf · 10 Aug 2004
We're not pissed because Wild didn't grab onto the trap (it was poorly executed I grant you that). We're pissed because we have to make stupid little traps and send people out to get flags. If we log a fight group with main characters during Wild time, Wild rents. Wild is more than willing to put its best 20 versus our second best 10 anytime it seems. But that's about where it stops.

"You guys think you're fooling somebody when you're about as smooth as Mavlad on his 1 hour a day away from his computer trying to pick up on girls."
There is NO way mavlad is away from his computer that long, and even if it was I highly doubt it would be to pick up chicks. Then again, I hear you can buy or "rent" chicks in Russia pretty easily. Mavlad > Jallu > Lassebot
  37. suf · 10 Aug 2004
Poor odds = an even chance of winning? If you think you will absolutely be beat down, I agree you shouldn't go in. But my experience fighting against Wild is that they won't go in, unless they are 90% to 95% sure of winning.
  38. harm · 10 Aug 2004
bottom line being that you're peeved we havent had the decency of chomping down on the blatant bait you set up for us, & so 10 of you stayed menued for i dont know how long, all for nothing.

now you can keep wasting time bitching that wildsux, OR you can try to figure out ways to ambush that arent entirely transparent, & maybe score some kills in the process.

up to you, big guy, athough i'd rather that you keep on w/ the former... it's amusing, in a juvenile kinda way.
  39. suf · 10 Aug 2004
You obviously haven't been reading what I've written. You want us to try just logging our 10 and watching you rent for a week? It's boring. Ambushing is fairly boring too. Scores of level one characters sitting at chokepoints waiting for someone to walk by.

Not too long ago Wild was "winning the war" and "dominating the mud." But they still fight like the beaten dog with the tail between its legs that they were the beginning of last wipe. Guerilla warfare, log and run and rent, all that nonsense. It's fine to do that when you need to, but to do that when you are "the dominant force" on the mud is a little silly.

You can make up stories about how you would have fought if we'd just logged a fight group all you want. History proves us out.
  40. Hravitz · 10 Aug 2004
I would say BSP have the advantage right now, both in playerbase and equipment. Why would Wild go up against BSP's top 10 when it could just widdle them down and try to regain the advantage by intelligent gameplay? No reason to go on tilt and lose everything just because BSP wants to force a confrontation. They seem to be picking their battles and strategies quite well imo.

    I think the log:
