RGB groupie
Robillard seen grouped with Zrefe. Spare me the randoming rhetoric.
You kneel down and study the ground. Your victim's tracks end here. Cila flies in from the north. Between Four Trees Robillard Salvatore, Archmagus of the Sword Coast is standing here. i bet its rurh!
Kinda like what terrorists do all the time.... Target the weakest people in a society to punish and terrorize the armed forces of that society.
Never heard Robillard name before ...
Anyways you probably random followed him?
"Kinda like what terrorists do all the time.... Target the weakest people in a society to punish and terrorize the armed forces of that society. "
There's some resemblance, mainly because both strategies work, are very popular in war, and are used by all sides. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Some people practiced suspect highlighting or simply because they liked random killing but it was never a wide clan policy in those days.
I remember helping cr some shriners in mystic and zoning with a few of them on occasion and at the same time zoning with their enemies brotherhood/black dragons.
If you people really gave a shit about the nuetrals you wouldnt group them, or you would warn them what happens. If you do warn them then they understand the risks and take them knowingly. Either way, find somewhere else to spread your bullshit, trust me we dont care
The only people at fault are those who CHOOSE to hunt down people who only play this game to zone. You can blame the otherside for grouping them all you want, but the fact is that you are the ones who commit the actual act. And you could safely ignore them and it wouldn't affect the war in any real way.
I'm not pointing the finger at any one clan, but I don't like it when fools try and play the "Its their own fault" card when it comes to neutrals being hunted. Plus I doubt anyone could point out one instance where having a few neutrals to help with a zone, managed to turn the tide in a clan war that wasn't already decided long before by other factors.
this highlight system is not an invention of bsp and has a long and bloody history in arctic. sometimes its not enforced, but dont pretend its not here.
you, scumpiglet, squeal only when bsp is responsible for something, anything. quaff some poison and die, boardwhore whiner.
> shit nis i thought Zrefe was RGB!

that's about the most stupid thing i ever read in this forum, congratulations.
I have grouped a few outlaw and BSP this wipe while they were still unknowns, also to me. I found out that BSP highlighted me for that (no longer so fortunately) while I specifically asked these people if they were clanned or not when I grouped them and they denied. I came off clean by stating who I was and beig semi known to both clans, but a relatively new neutral probably would not have been so lucky and would have been PKed by both clans for doing nothing wrong.
How can you prevent this? I have no answers, only that it is NOT the neutrals fault.
As far as clan titling goes, when the wipe started and Addict clan was forming Zack(addiction leader) came to me concerned that his new clan would accidently be attacked in crossfire of war. To avoid this we agreed that _every_ member of Addicts would title loud and clear who they were. Results were pretty damn good. I dont believe a single titled addict was ever killed by bsp.
People like brafu bring up ridiculous points that are nothing more than pot shots at bsp. Hey, when your on the top your gonna have people trying to bring you down we look past this. But if you guys care about the nuetrals maybe we can work out a strict Titling policy to cut down on some wrongful deaths. If you guys really enforced it I wouldnt be against giving it a shot
patrick has been the most reasonable poster on this log so far
I find it pretty amusing you can get so incredibly self righteous while being so amazingly hypocritical. Shut up you morons, jesus. Killing suspect highlights is a key part of war for a number of reasons. One, by allowing neutrals to group with enemy, you give them the power to do higher zones, which let's them zone more, get better eq, and up their morale. Second, by not monitoring potential unknowns, you get the problem of unknown char ambushes as has happened multiple times as well. We highlighted Bezinka for roughly the same reasons, and low and behold, we were right.
As to back in the day, yes, back in the day it may have happened, but Arctic has evolved since that and clan warfare evolved with it. Don't kid yourselves, BSP or Wildlaws would shred the shriners of old. Why? Because clan warfare is now down to a science pretty much, with very little wiggle room.
You can have your own rules which you play by(kill by association) and thats cool and all but just because the other team does not wish to play by your particular rules does not mean that it is their fault for some action. In my opinion, any false highlights are the clan who does the killings fault, but then again, I'm one of those old fashion guys who thinks if you can't remember the name of your enemy, then they are not worthy to be in that position.
I do agree with Patricks post about clans and titling. If people always titled their characters who are in clans, then maybe this pre-emptive striking would at least be reduced a little.
These are my opinions, I don't expect anyone to care.
Personally I think it would be better off if unknowns and neutrals were allowed to group with clans. Why? Because for the reasons that Heo mentioned, one clan will get more eq and will get higher moral. This will lead to more fighting.
Pking is great fun, nothing beats winning a large scale battle. The common problem now is that these battles are very rare. Unknowns are always getting beat up making their leveling slower(but thats about it) and clan members on either side get picked off in solo fights. Woo hoo.
Everyone is scared to loose their eq and will only zone during peak times because of this. Personally I think there would be more fighting if there was in turn more zoning. Who am I to say anything though being that I am not in either of these two clans at the moment.
Everyone just takes this damn game too serious and as a result we are going to have a new, and fairly harsh, pk system that will totally screw any clan that hunts unknown's. Maybe if you fools get off your ass and think about what I just said then maybe Aristox will reconsider the creation of the new pk system.
basically we would ask outlaws and rgb to title their respective clan names. bsp on the other hand would strictly restrict themselves to killing known enemies and inform the neutral populace that they can feel free to group with enemies and not be highlighted. we're trying to take the first step to improve the highlighting system. we accepted the fact that the scummiest clan (Rgb) would probably not do this and outlaws may still have tried some unknown hits, but it was agreed between the three of us that it was overall a huge benefit to the mud's neutral population to take this step. to put it succinctly, for perhaps one of the first times on arctic we were making a hefty decision not for the clan but for arctic as a whole.
welllllllllll long story short after we agreed to this we all ended up quitting, but im posting this in case perhaps another clan leader out there who is almost as amazing/perfect/handsome as me is willing to try to sort out the kinks in their own clan and adopt this.
you may lose some gear this way, but you'll have the muds respect and you'll be a helluva lot more honorable than everyone else.
sincerely,
god
You must be new, I grouped warring clans all the time back when I was new, as did many others, and I wasnever attacked for it. The kill-all-who-group IS a new tactic, regardless of what you may think.
Also, I wouldn't worry about RGB much, Loretta seems to like to burn bridges, so he'll probably be the only one left eventually.
Who would trust you betrayer? I would trust corey much more then you... Great you stopped playing i hope you never return again.
As for RGB bad reputation, i'm not rgb but i don't understand it. They kill less unknowns/neutrals then bsp or outlaws, daniil was right when he said - show any post of random kill by rgb this wipe... but still... and he fact is poor robillard was killed by outlaws, then by bsp and rgb didn't kill him yet! :)
As for mavlad being killed 3 wipes ago for grouping with loretta - as i remember loretta was bsp that time so what's the question?
In short, watching this war has no downside for me, it'd be like watching Hilary Clinton fight Ted Kennedy to the Death. Just can't be upset nomatter who wins/loses.
I enjoy the mud very much still, but those old days were so much less complicated from a non-warring point of view.
Anyone who remembers the good old days when I never got randomed bla bla either has selective amnesia or was very lucky. There have always been casualties of war and there always will.
As for this bullshit about enforcing clan titling etc etc gimme a break. Anyone who gives info away to their enemy is a moron in my opinion, stay unknown for as long as u can.
In regards to neutrals, the only real reason for zoning with clans is to log/learn zones. The only eq they ever receive from it is trash unwanted by said clan. Therefore use some common sense, don't zone with your main character, use ur 2nd or 3rd char that u don't care about or come straight out and talk to a member of the enemy clan straight after u zone and ensure that u are not highlighted.
On the other hand, 80% of neutrals who group with a clan are friends of some member of that clan and are being groomed for recruitment, and end up joining it, regardless of if they become hunted as result of said grouping. Being PK'd by that clans enemy just speeds the process up.
Enuff rambling, bed time.
A couple days later, im somewhat re-equipped, zoning peacefully as usual again. I see one of the (now known) evils running around with 3 other characters I've never seen before. No problem, maybe I should just be naive and assume the other 3 are not evil. Oops, they were evil after all. Maybe I shoulda highlighted them before they got my shinies again.
The fact is that people use 'unknown' chars for PK. If all the 25+ chars clearly stated their clan affiliation, the who command could help me decide if I wanna get the fuck out of dodge or stick around.
The fact is that nobody wants to lose hard-to-get equipment, and that chars seen grouping with known evils turn out to be evil as well in like 95% of the cases. Face it, very few players nowadays will group with people they dont know.
The XP loss at PK is a joke. I've got at least 15 deaths on my thief, only one of them from PK. I usually make up the normal death xp loss in roughly 30-45 minutes. On the other hand, that epic stabber of doom which I have, took a 10 man group almost 3 hours of a rough zone or roughly 30 man hours for a single piece of equipment. The whole game revolves around shinies anyway, so no way I'm letting the enemy have mine that easily!

What the hell are you talking about?
Who the hell are you?
You killed my young druid early in wipe on your thief with a cleric and a druid. I'm hurt my death isn't even worth remembering!
Seriously, make sure nobody can learn the game. Force everybody to quit. Because then you'll own the game, and all shinies will belong to you.
