nice ambush tho ..guess I shouldn't have fragged :p
  4. mavlad · 16 Oct 2005
    Really missing clerics' sheafs.
Imms should think about it since druids/mages sheafs works perfect IMHO.
  5. Nis · 16 Oct 2005
yeah clerics with no heal kicks ass
  6. ddog · 16 Oct 2005
hey how about warriors and other class sheafs too? you could, lose like bash and then you would need to like train it again from awful if you didnt get to claim it?! YEAH make arctic suck more please
  7. RottenPotato · 16 Oct 2005
Sheafs are the stupidest idea introduced to Arctic yet. Trash may have to be dealt with in some way, but this isn't it.
  8. mavlad · 16 Oct 2005
trash/not trash, but this is a way only can hurt some caster finally.
    Can't hurt healer w/o +heals still !
  9. tikk · 16 Oct 2005
Tank classes also have more hp which leaves more room for error before they die, casters dont.

I agree with corey, sheafs are the dumbest idea ever. Want to hurt casters more, make their exp loss bigger when they die or something.

  10. nol · 17 Oct 2005
I agree, sheafs are unnecessary because with unlimited eq, tanks don't have more to lose than casters. If you had to balance it, make tank unlimited eq better/easier to get.
  11. chris T · 17 Oct 2005
    who cares it's only Nis..
  12. Malth · 17 Oct 2005
Nis, you're not the first, or last to be wrong. It's been stated by Aristox, heal would be exempt from the sheaf system, and really, what would be the point fo cleric sheafs then? Make them lose Steelskin and sunray, or maybe animate/gate? It's not like clerics have a wide range of spells that trash would use in pk that aren't guild or immune to sheafs(heal).

Stupidest idea introduced to Arctic so far would have to be Kenders. They suck, kill all kender.

  13. runulv · 17 Oct 2005
yea, I agree with Nol ..before tanks had most to loose, now it's the other way ...even more so considered casters die more easily than tanks.
  14. chris T · 17 Oct 2005
They should have just left spells alone
  15. Wezlar · 17 Oct 2005
Malth, you could say the same about druids. Before the sheaf/retarded tab system was put in any druid that was trash didn't have any spells worth losing anyways.
  16. Malth · 17 Oct 2005
I remember seeing alot of trash druids with call/para/icestorm/etc... those aren't spells worth losing?

Sure, they aren't stoneskin, swarm, lstorm, or enlarge, but they are very handy.
  17. dean · 17 Oct 2005
I agree with Nol and Tajs sheafs just totally suck i think. Casters have a lot more to lose then tanks do now with this sheaf system. But i said this from the start when it was first put in. There is no balance.

Yeah tank classes could lose there skill Manules. Sheafs has totally made pk 0 fun for casters and its only hurt the ones whos not trash not the trash characters.
  19. al · 18 Oct 2005
Even with more tabs/spellbooks loading for druids/mages I think the sheaf system is too much of a strain on the caster class. Losing a sheaf isn't a real problem for zoning, but for the element of PK, putting in a penanty of losing 15% of your spells for the very real chance of death is too steep of a risk. Casters are harder to play in bigger group PK but one of the most fun and challenging things to do. Down with the sheaf!
  20. Beryv · 18 Oct 2005
If you don't like the system then immort, get promoted, think of some great new ideas, put the time in to code them, and do something about it.

Or you could keep complaining since that is equally productive.
  21. runulv · 18 Oct 2005
You would think imms might wanna listen to ppl who have played casters in clan wars? we might have a point?
  22. Wezlar · 18 Oct 2005
"If you don't like the system then immort, get promoted, think of some great new ideas, put the time in to code them, and do something about it. "

This is obviously much easier said than done, and it's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Why should people not express their opinions on new things that are implimented into the game? You'd think feedback, either positive or negative, would be appreciated.
  23. deoph · 18 Oct 2005
Feedback is nothing, All players are nothing. It's a free game, why are you bitching (sarcasm). As it slides down hill and loses more and more players, let us all cry for bsd and make sure they get char restores when the finns cheat them out of all thier eq. Where is my restore for all the times the finns randomed me? I Usually didn't:
    A: walk into it.
    B: Deserve it. ('Cept pablo!)
C: Have any chance to recall.
So I think I'm far more deserving!
  24. Attai · 18 Oct 2005

not like imms ever cared what mortals think of anything, flag system is good example
  28. psychoDAD · 19 Oct 2005
i'd like to make a toast to the finns.

Though we've had our differences in the past, I'd like to put all past bygones aside.. and say well done.. well DONE. WELL DONE.

Hopefully this is just the beginning of the end. Keep up the good work.

    let arctic BURN
  29. Beryv · 19 Oct 2005
Who are you kidding? Your all vicious crack whores for this game and as long as you have access to the crack you will continue to consume it.

With regards to whoever it was that replied and said it was the dumbest thing they had ever heard. All I have to say is if you really care about this game and feel like its taking the wrong direction there are outlets in which YOU through hard work and dedication can make your opinions felt. Whining on Suf's or the mortal board really isn't going to get you far as I'm sure you've realized.

If your too selfish running zones and hording eq to want to take the time to personally get involved and change anything then let me be the first to offer you some cheese with your whine. Like in any aspect in the professional world you have to pay your dues before anyone listens to you.
  30. tikk · 20 Oct 2005

How is the "theory" invalid. Its not like creation is a walk in the park you either work hard to create, or you simply get deleted after fucking around for too long. Friends will only get you so far, your on your own the rest of the way.

Explain the Return and Position of Hoss
  38. Malth · 21 Oct 2005
I can answer that for you pat:

    Hoss is/was a Shriner.

The MUD is run by Shriners.

Thus it is logical(and to those who make the calls, valid) that another Shriner would fill in a recently opened high-level position.

Ofcourse not all shriners are bad. Johari seemed pretty cool when I zoned at the start of the wipe with him and brama. It did feel weird as hell when I'd lead though. :P

I just find it cute how if anyone would try to 1-up the shriners by doing things they did, only better, than it results in deletes and bans. I know it'd be harder to counter such a thing since we have about 1/4 the players now but it's just funny/hypocritical (i'd say they learned from their mistakes, but the fact that Hoss is a highlvl imm means they didn't :))
