A large rack with a variety of tools such as prongs and hammers has been
nailed to the wall of the smithy. A large cooling bucket is placed within
a minotaur's length of the anvil and furnace where most of the repairing
of armor and weapons is taken care of. Hisses from rapidly quenched metal
and rings from hammer on anvil pollute the air with noise. The master
smith who runs this shop seems busy, churning out a steady supply of
horseshoes, weapons, and armor, while doing repairs as well.

Endeavors
Dew drops, pine cones, bat guano, and snake tongues are among the numerous
alchemical components held on racks and shelves throughout this small shop
in the stronghold. In the center of the room a cauldron bubbles forth a
sickly sweet smell from some yellowish green liquid. Most definitely, this
is a good place for an aspiring alchemist to gain the tools necessary to
become more achieved in his or her craft, and if that is not the goal,
peeking at all the interesting curios in the shop offers plenty of
distraction.

nailed to the wall of the smithy. A large cooling bucket is placed within
a minotaur's length of the anvil and furnace where most of the repairing
of armor and weapons is taken care of. Hisses from rapidly quenched metal
and rings from hammer on anvil pollute the air with noise. The master
smith who runs this shop seems busy, churning out a steady supply of
horseshoes, weapons, and armor, while doing repairs as well.

After you have punished this behavior perpetrated by brandon -i'll link in forums so it is well known- this system needs some revamping. Remove the ability for uninvolved parties to get flags obviously.
Flags have been like this for a long time, if you didn't realize it, well, lesson learned. If you disagree with the way flags work, well, I'm sure a ton of people would agree with you, myself included.
But they coded it this way, so don't hate the player, hate the game.
Begging the imms to delete your enemies because they beat you using the flag system is like asking for a char restore because you think Soth PWK's too much. Just deal with it and move on.
Perhaps it should have been corrected then but if you look back the abuse is certainly different. Mael at least gave core the flags they used or at least as I recall I did not participate. In this case you can see that certain trash solo loadable by a certain trash mage was used to start the fight and get the flags. It is more like pot meet Urinal. Both hold water but the second instance is also full of piss.
Yes, it NEEDS to be changed since it's extremely fucked up and screws pk all to hell and back (and if you don't believe me, then just read some old logs of ben and reed using the system very fucking well).

It is also the middle name of the penis dripping you so lovingly defend so they would probably rather you don't throw it around as an insult.
I'm not trying to deny your win--any game is about figuring out the rules and winning by them, and PK rules count within that, and this was a well played fight and a well deserved win for Apoc. But it's hard to believe your claim that 'nobody has ever complained about the flag system,' since it's come up a few times in the past on Suf's and the mud forums, and in fact it's being discussed right now on one of Adepali's threads.
Personally, I think the flag system as it stands is deeply flawed. I assume flags exist for specific reasons, probably to prevent people from jumping someone and immediately renting/hiding in peace/etc, maybe to give the victim a slight advantage over the aggressor. But the convoluted mechanics to the system now, which you can only really learn by a lot of trial and error, seem to serve no other purpose than to make "in depth knowledge of flags" another important PK skill.
So yes, I think the system needs an overhaul, but it's obviously not a bug, just an intended feature that I happen to dislike, so some of you guys are getting way off base by comparing exploitation of flags to "exploiting a bug." It's a poorly written system that I've been complaining about for years, but that hasn't stopped me from learning everything I can about how it use it and how to defend against it.

The results of this fight might have pissed a few Core off, for a little bit, but thats to be expected when something like this happens. But you guys are trying to milk more than this paticular cow has to offer, and it's rather pathetic.

I don't honestly think 99% of Core think what Apoc did was all that scummy. Hell, we did it to Mael, and I have no real doubts that we wouldn't do it to Apoc if we finally grow sick of their inn sitting when we are ready and willing to fight.
But what I think most of the heated comments on this log are about is how Brandon decided to try and pump up this rather small log into some huge victory. People are sick of him constantly acting as if every little Core death is somehow yet another example of Apoc's "Dominance" and power.
Everyone in Core knew Brandon and John would get their share of 2's and 3's kills on Core during the day, because thats what they are best at. They are good at quick logging and hitting the wandering people. They are more or less randomers with a clan tag, and fight as such.
The fact of the matter is... any of us that have been around for awhile understand how wars with Brandon and John go (and I've been of both sides, so I definitely can speak to this). Picking people off here and there leads to them feeling like they can beat their chests and the drums of war, as if anyone is really impressed.
My favorite line so far is that CORE started this. Brandon comes into a mixed group and attacks a group member, casts an area spell, and uses the fact that some people don't just let people in their groups die as an excuse to attack someone later. Does anyone think this is reasonable?
This is a fun war with pretty low stakes given most people expect a wipe shortly. If anything, CORE should give us PWA to even the odds, Apoc has way less ppl than RGB/CORE/PWA/BST.
If I was CORE, I'd consider this an opportunity to hone battle skills. And possibly giving deoph some xanax.
The ONLY reason Brandon did what he did, KNOWING Core WOULD come to Locki's aid, is because in his little mind he thinks he can best Core. He knows he isn't going to be touching Outlaw again anytime soon, and Weenor would simply laugh as the little gnat circles overhead.
The only reason he went into that room was because he WANTED to start a war with Core, pure and simple. Anyone who believes otherwise is fooling themselves. Locki was simply an excuse for Brandon to war Core again.
And just a small FYI, most clans (unless they are just being dickish about it) will give another clan a heads up before they run into a room and start ganking members of a group that they are leading. I seriously doubt killing Locki was soo soo vital to Apoc's war efforts that they couldn't risk missing the chance of losing him by showing some common respect towards another clan by giving them a heads up.
Hell, Brandon has grouped with Core, and warred Core for most of this wipe. He KNOWS Core well enough to know exactly how those in that group were going to react well before he ever entered that room.
Ask yourself this. Think Brandon would have gone after Locki if it was a primarily WNR or MAEL group? I strongly doubt it.
On the other hand, would Locki have gotten healed if it were WNR or MAEL attacking? You betcha.
Oh, and Heo... as far as I can tell, very few CORE actually mind that we're fighting and do enjoy the opportunity to "hone" our battle skills. The fact of the matter is, however, that most of us would rather be zoning and doing our own thing... and if you look at the title of this log and it's description, you can see the kind of idiocy we're dealing with here.

Far be it from me to generally correct peopleâs spelling but John and Brandon the word is -basically-. Maybe you do it on purpose because at least two people have, with various degrees of subtlety, corrected or mentioned it.
Brandon has asked core for peace on a few occasions. At the end of the original war we did give back eq but all that we gave was in all but 1 case apocâs eq and in that one case spare. A large portion of the eq was given by cross clan friends and had nothing to do with peace. Only two things that qualified for a rent decay flag changed hands again one of those was spare.
