I agree danno, weird how we start warring wilds and all my chars end up dissapearing in one day, coincidence?
  8. Kadaj · 15 Aug 2010
Johnny Tsunami, I live in Duluth now, my phone is kinda dead tho so hit me up on skype. Yeah, Wilds are bads. Can't do much when they run the mud through others. Oh well, start making GOOD logs please, this is quite boring.
  9. Leeroy Baggins · 15 Aug 2010
The most odd part was how it took so long for you character sharing bastards to be deleted. Survey the entire mud and see if it wouldn't have returned 95+% about how you guys were sharing. I mean, even last wipe the whole mud knew Dan was trash playing Kylar the entire time. Quit crying about it and just stfu and move on (back to Arctic or back to WoW), no one cares, but stop crying about getting the punishment you earned.
  10. keepitreal · 15 Aug 2010
seriously... you admitted to playing wow and cry about arctic in the same thread. The only thing you've convinced anybody of is your homosexuality.
  11. feroz · 16 Aug 2010
haha leeroy, yeah I'll admit it, I gave alisher my password before I left for basic training last wipe. He ended up logging one of my chars when I returned playing again, and the punishment was Turok being deleted because that was the only char he logged, but because we were warring wilds all of my chars ended up missing instead of just Turok the char that was shared for 2 minutes of this wipe. Leave it up to wilds to gradually kill the playerbase of arctic.

Too funny ........ you guys crack me up...... john 2 minutes huh well lets see not going to finger point but i know for a fact and i mean 100% fact about RANK multiing. And another 100% fact RANK is not the only ones to do it. And i find it funny to see certain people that multi complaining about RANK doing it. Skype is a wonderful tool but when you tell me while playing your basher "oh let me log my healer so we can zone more" it is blatant multiing. Not always RANK.

Anyway flame on, bitch on , whine on, but play on even if you get caught :)
  13. Kadaj · 16 Aug 2010
Oh no! Someone from an ancient text based game's log website called me a homo for playing wow! What ever shall I do?!?

I'm not complaining one bit, I'm saddened by this games slow decline into nothing but what are you gonna do?
  14. auzandy · 16 Aug 2010
    what are we gonna do?

Apparently we're going to listen to a whole heap of constant bitching, moaning and trash talking from people who all claim that they are the only person on this game that has a life, that they really have quit, that someone actually cares abut their opinion blah blah blah

Seriously, either play the game, or dont play the game - but for the love of God stop sounding like a bunch of pubescent school girls arguing over who loves Justin Bieber more. Dont all of you ever get tired of it?

  18. Heo · 17 Aug 2010
    Meh -

I have quit this game, but I will say this - Arctic is the only game that I ever really enjoyed. Every other game gets boring because it's too soft and stupid. Everything else is just about playing time, or other dull crap.

Arctic was the only game that didn't have kid gloves or cheat codes, and where you compete against other people based on intelligent play. What happens if someone kills you on WoW? You lose some experience?

Doesn't really shift the entire dynamic of the game if someone loses one item or gains one spell.
  19. Shesh · 18 Aug 2010
Not sure if anyone noticed but even the next generation - wow - is already on the decline... 3 years of stagnation on the same playerbase level, which is still 70% of entire mmorpg market.
So Arctic is beyond ancient, but it doesn't make it any worse gameplay-wise.
  20. reed23 · 18 Aug 2010
I'd like to chime in about Wild Imm Cheating Deletion since i have been a part of it. We all know cheating (multiing and char sharing) goes on in the mud; I'm not admitting to either. However, for those who do it, or are accused of doing it (I get accused of it sometimes) this is what we say. Why don't we get deleted, or abyssed or anything BEFORE we attack Wilds??? Why are we always noticed AFTER we attack Wilds? It's pathetic that Wild imms have to come down harsh after they or one of their clannies have been whooped up by us, then they (Wild Imms) have to get on their little cheat devices to protect them or their following clanmates. If you are going to look into crap, do it for real, not once you are getting your butt handed to you in pk, and the only way to protect yourself is through deleting the other guy, not by actually making a legit kill.
  21. Drake · 18 Aug 2010
Blah blah, I cheat, blah blah, <excuse>, blah blah <cry>.
  22. Heo · 18 Aug 2010
I don't think Reed is making an excuse... if you multi, you get deleted. Boom.

I believe he's saying that it cuts both ways though, in that a policy of only enforcing that strategy when friends of Immortals are hit is a biased move.

Either way, without the PK and harsh consequences of dying, this would just be another WoW or EverQuest. So don't be too quick to cut down people who make this game more interesting in their rabble-rousing way.
  23. Strix · 18 Aug 2010
My thing is if there is anyone multiing then punish them. Dont just punish LTF cause they are out pking which there is nothing wrong with. PK is part of the mud like it or not. The only thing i have a problem with is some 25+ going through solace and killing people that are trying to roll new characters or starting the game new.

If you are ranked and out exploring or xping or zoning and get jumped by another group or player suck it up and keep playing. It sucks but it is part of the game.
  24. reed23 · 18 Aug 2010
Drake sounds like a typical Wild Imm that has no point, and just blow off steam. You should join their clan and get an imm if you already arn't one.
  25. jrrestad · 18 Aug 2010
Don't cheat, won't get deleted. Pretty simple really. If you get deleted before or after you attack Wilds, who cares. You cheated, and then you attack a clan that may have some higher level immortals. Now you have their attention, and you have cheated! I think sometimes mortal characters have an easier time spotting the cheaters than immortals.

Quick analogy here. If you jay walk you might not get in trouble for it. But if you jay walk and then call a cop a pig, he might just give ya a ticket.
  26. RaVaN · 18 Aug 2010
    @jrrestad

That has to be one of the better analogies on that subject. And like you said, cheating is cheating, doesn't matter when you do it...punishment should be the same...and if Tregar has the right of it, it is a problem for immortals to get proof easily for the wiley types. Anyhow, quit cheating.

    You guys are simply amazing.

Shesh - Yeah a steady decline, wow has gone from 15 million to 14 million, damn. The fun part about WoW compared to Mud for me is the actual even playing field, the active regulators for the game who continue to fix and change stuff for the better, rather than the imms on arctic who don't do shit.

"3 years of stagnation on the same playerbase level"

Opposed to heaps of new people on Arctic? chuckle.

The fun thing about WoW for me, is the actually fighting. Arenas, BG's, world PVP, something you absolutely won't find in Arctic. It's not about the gear, it's about the fun and excitement of actually outplaying another person with your guy. If there was any shred of this left on arctic, I'd consider playing again. Hopefully the current staff gets their heads out of eachothers asses and does something about it.

edit: in before the nerds on this game that still think it's fun to run around an empty landscape fighting the same exact mobs for the last 15 years. I've had the best gear on this game, I've done almost every fight on this game, I've played for 12 years. It's time to hang up the arctic gloves and move on. Incoming flames....
  28. jorake · 18 Aug 2010
What's funny about all the "i quit post" most of those players have "quit" before and said they wouldnt be back, and wahlah, they are back. Some quit and come back strictly to pk other people, but hey.. they came back!
  29. keepitreal · 19 Aug 2010
rofl kadaj... you are seriously trying to say you play WoW for the pvp? That is the funniest shit i've heard all week. WoW has awful pvp... why don't you just tell the truth and let people know you play an easymode game where you can enjoy pointy eared characters and bright colors while you pretend to be a woman (justin meddaugh style) and trick nerds into equiping you. Or maybe you just play wow to impress the 12 year old boys hoping you might lure one to your mom's basement someday.. But definately don't tell us you play WoW cause you "pvp" ROFL
  30. Kadaj · 19 Aug 2010
WoW HAS pvp, something Arctic lacks
  31. Corey · 19 Aug 2010
keepitreal - WoW arena is very competitive and you'd be very ignorant to say otherwise.
  32. keepitreal · 20 Aug 2010
So is highschool cheerleading, but there's just some things straight men shouldn't do.
  33. pawn · 20 Aug 2010
keepitreal is so dumb. so stfu.
  34. keepitreal · 20 Aug 2010
Ooohh antione dodson has joined the discussion!
  35. Kadaj · 20 Aug 2010
Looks like someone didn't make the cheerleading team in high school and is visibly upset
  36. val · 23 Aug 2010
you can't say WoW doesnt have good pvp. the last 2 months i played before i quit i did nothing except pvp and had a lot of fun. you might not lose anything except arena rating when you die, but it still pisses me off.

there is nothing like arctic pvp however. not only do you lose the gear you worked hours to get, it goes to your worst enemy. no other game can produce that level of emotion.
  37. Kadaj · 23 Aug 2010
That is true, arenas do get the heart pumping. However Arctic's PK WAS good, back when people would actually fight. Now it's a bunch of whiners who cry when they die.
  38. mavlad · 24 Aug 2010
There WAS fun when you're losing equipment/exp you worked weeks for. That is final fun with adrenaline which current Arctic mud population will never feel.
  39. auzandy · 24 Aug 2010
Sorry Mavlad, but you and your clan were just as guilty of not wanting to risk equip unless you had major advantages as anyone else....
  40. Heo · 24 Aug 2010
Actually, that's what was fun about PK, knowing when to take calculated risks. Because losing a single battle can totally shift the power dynamics of the mud, it always made sense to be smart about when you fought.

Personally, I tried to never go into a battle unless there was a substantial return and I thought we had a good chance of winning. 1v1 PK is boring - what skill is there really in gambling whether your hold or bash will land?

Anyone who fights as a clan without any thought as to risk is either dumb or has too much time to constantly level chars. Knowing when to lie down and when to fight is what makes a clan decent.

That's why Brandon, despite leading a number of zones and playing all the time, seemed to always lose, because he led battles without really evaluating odds.
  41. auzandy · 25 Aug 2010
quite definitely agree - but having 'major advantage' and taking 'calculated risk' are two quite different things...
  42. RaVaN · 25 Aug 2010
    Big Talk and Criticism

"Amoung warriors there are those who talk big and those who criticize; they seem similiar, but it should be understood that they are very different.

Let me explain. Amoung warriors of old there were any number of knights who had gained a reputation for big talk. Even amoung bannermen of the shogun there have been some big talkers. In thier time, there were a handful of warriors known as big talkers in the establishment of the baronial houses in every province.

Those big talkers had all done distinguished military service time and again, and lacked nothing in terms of the warrior code; yet they were held back socially and professionally by the fact that they could sometimes be so stubborn that they could not serve as advisors. Thier salaries and positions did not match up to thier distinguished reputations, so they developed a devil-may-care attitude, saying whatever they wanted to, whenever they wished. And yet the overlords and thier top councillors ignored them as beyond the pale, so they became more and more uninhibited, declaring peopls's virtues and vices without reserve or apology, big talkers for the rest of thier lives.

As for the big talkers of today, they have never even donned a suit of armor, yet whenever they get together with thier cronies they criticize thier employer's management of the establishment, or the personnel policies of the board of directors; they also gossip to thier hearts' content about thier peers and colleagues. People like this, morons who think they alone are the smart ones, are vastly different of the big talkers of ancients times. What they do should rather be called bad mouthing, or talking trash."
(Code of the Samurai translated by Thomas Cleary)

@Mavlad basicly am agreeing with you
  43. keepitreal · 25 Aug 2010
    @Heo
And this is exactly the mentality which ruins the mud. Arctic is not real life. Stop trying to treat it like it is. You know what happens when you "don't take risks", and "Lie down"... nobody fights, the mud gets boring, and everybody quits. There's no difference to losing your eq to deeprent or losing it to pk, except losing it to deeprent makes you a pussy and a coward. And if you can't even act like a man on a text based game I can't imagine how shitty your life is on the real.
  44. pablo · 25 Aug 2010
    @keepitreal:

    1) "Arctic is not real life. Stop trying to treat it like it is."
    2) "if you can't even act like a man on a text based game I can't imagine how shitty your life is on the real. "

heh, I can see Arctic's emotions easily transcend the game realm into real-life realm :)
  45. Monty · 25 Aug 2010
None of you can have my life btw. Althought I dont think any of you would want it.
  46. Heo · 25 Aug 2010
"Act like a man"? Dude, come on, this is a game.

Look at the old logs with my name in them, I led plenty of fights, and won most of them. The advantage doesn't have to always be in numbers or equipment (it almost never was for us), it can be in surprise, targeting, an unknown healer, luring the enemy to a specific room, using a certain mob, etc...

I led the 3rd or 4th strongest clan back in the day, but I wouldn't hesitate to fight the strongest, I just did it intelligently - making allies with other clans, etc... so that we didn't get massacred.

Here's the other scenario keepitreal - and again, Brandon illustrated this beautifully. You have a clan, lots of people, getting good eq, morale is high, people are logging a lot. You get in a fight you can't handle, and carlessly engage in battles, which loses all your eq. Now your clan is fairly naked, and a lot of people quit playing because they lost so much eq/xp/etc and morale is down. That's what you're talking about? Because any retard can level up a char and go suicide. You don't need arctic for that.

P.S. It's pretty weak to bring real life references here, but I'd be willing to bet you'd be happy to trade for my "shitty life"

While I wasn't directly refering to you in particular Heo, I do appreciate the trade offer though i must decline. What people don't understand is in a 10v10, somebody wins and somebody loses the battle, but all have fun playing the game. Spamming silvi for the 100th time this wipe with a stacked 10man of legendaries is far more boring then running dracos with a naked 10man trying to re-equip after a losing battle and planning on a retaliation. From what I've seen in this game, most people quit out of boredom and lose their shinies due to rent decay or deadbeat more then people quit from losing a clan battle. While in war, choosing your battles wisely is intelligent, in a game like arctic having the opportunity to due battle is a rare opportunity in itself, one that should not be brushed aside so easily.
  48. patrick · 26 Aug 2010
Funniest thing is hearing soocial awkward nerds debating about courage and honor on text based dungeons and dragons
  49. jrrestad · 26 Aug 2010
PK is great, but when the mud population is 30members, starting a war means forcing 10 off most of the time. So hopefully early next wipe, when numbers are up, we can see more wars. Until then its just going to hurt the playerbase. People wont return to the mud because some clan is warring another.
  50. keepitreal · 26 Aug 2010
Even funnier is legendary homosexual patrick making false assumptions of people on the internet and using two words he knows nothing about, courage and honor.
  51. Kadaj · 26 Aug 2010
lololol keepitreal, what a tool. That was a sick burn! I'm not friends with Patrick, but I thought that was a pretty horrible attempt at a personal attack.

    Where were you tough guy?

Well I don't want to get into military service on a mud forum but i do appreciate yours. Lets just get back to trolling and stay away from irl shall we? You are fat and Kadaj is still using WoW to lure young boys to his bedroom. Oh and Core is pretty gay too. Wilds cheat. Bsp cry. Outlaws bot. Fuck the police.
