Ode to Vanya

Lyrical prose of the casualties of war

Twas a cold and rainy day
That CORE stumbled upon a VA
A lone straggler wandering about
Caught North of the inn, seemingly en route

Magic a bust, the room did forbid
Our straggler VA ran off and hid
But to his chagrin, and much our delight
Three magi pursued through magical flight

Through a puff of smoke and turmoil of dust
Three mages descended with terrible lust
Try as he may and run as he might
There is no escape from the magi in flight

Then out of breathe on a dusty old road
Thinking him safe, our quarry had slowed
With imp in hand and malice of thought
Peaches descends on Vanya distraught

His way of escape seemingly lost
A final thought of the terrible cost
"Don't wander alone," he thought as he died
For there is no place you can run off and hide

The battle complete, our quarry undone
The rain clouds give way to the glorious sun
As if to say, the sky does agree
VA ought not to have started this spree...

lodge also has its own cafe, where they make great tasting coffee. There is
also a lounge for the guests to rest and relax or do some reading. The

     This is Vingaard Avenue, a well traveled street that runs north-south
through Kalaman. To the north, you see the busy town square and bazaar.
Looking south, you see the poorer part of town, less frequented by the
general populace. The Traveler's Lodge is to the west and a fine diner is
to the east.

A Cobbled Lane
    The lane is deserted, save for a few dark doorwells. It would be wise
to keep on your guard in this gloomy place. By the rubbish in the gutters
and filth on the cobbles, this place is not even visited by the janitors.

    Before you stand tall the iron gates that lead to the town of Neraka.
The rough stone walls that surround the town are blackened and scorched,
several blocks are missing and cracks have appeared. The gates are welcome

A Dusty Road
    The road beneath your feet is dusty and uneven, a result of
half-finished cobbling. Piles of pebbles and larger cobbles lie by the side
of the road, waiting to be put into place. To the north is the town of
Neraka, to the south the dusty road leads towards the rolling foothills and
pleasant scenery.

    By watching carefully where you are going, it is much easier to avoid
the bumps in the road that threaten to twist an ankle and prematurely end
your travels. The road continues to the north and south.

    The rolling hills look very tempting to the south, at least they will
allow your feet soft ground to walk on. If you are really lucky, there may
