Inside the Extinct Volcano
You are in the throat of an extinct volcano. At one time, being here
would result in instant death. However, many eons have passed since the
belching of molten rock and gasses. The smell of sulphur wafts in from
below. You can only go up or down from here.

An Empty Magma Chamber
The darkness here is emphasized by the black hardened basalt that
surrounds you. Slicing through the walls are jagged fissures through which
a hissing gas escapes, basking the chamber in a poisonous cloud. A small
hole in the room allows natural light to shine in and you see several bones
of animals that have fallen in here and could not get back out. What
strikes you as unusual though, is the grooves and marks in the sandy dust
on the floor.

recess. The floor of the cavern bears many scratch marks, some of which are
small, and others which are very large and deep. A noxious cloud of fumes
helps to capture some light and alleviate the pitch darkness in the far
corners of the chamber. Against the far wall, through the gloom you see
piles of bone and decaying carcasses, which leave a putrid stench searing
